We are pleased to announce our first planned litter for 2026: Bea – Art-Wave’s Moonstruck together with Haradwater Life Of Brian.
A huge and heartfelt thank you to Marthe Bleka, of Inuanoor kennel, Brian's owner, for all your dedication, your kindness in welcoming us even during the holidays, and for giving us the opportunity to use Brian 💛.
And how did the mating go?
Well… not quite as planned, to put it mildly 😄
Anyone who has a dog knows that some things are beyond your control. For example, when a female goes into heat. Right in the middle of moving house and just before Christmas, Bea decided it was the perfect time. We had actually joked back in the summer that we would probably end up having to mate her on Christmas Eve – and sure enough.
During the Stockholm Dog Show 2025, Bea went into heat back home, and that's when we started seriously counting the days. It quickly became clear to us that the mating would most likely take place right around Christmas Eve. Exactly what you wish for in the days before Christmas 😅.
We took a blood sample and anxiously awaited the results. When the email arrived, it was clear: mating was recommended for early Wednesday morning, December 24th. Exactly as we had predicted. Brian, the male, lived… seven and a half hours away. In Norway.
So, we just had to pack the car on December 23rd and drive north. In the evening, we had a really good mating, slept for a few hours in a small, cozy Airbnb, and got up early for another mating on Christmas Eve morning – which also went very well.
Then it was just a matter of heading home again. We drove straight through and yes, we actually made it home just in time for the Donald Duck Christmas special.
Now, all that remains is the wait. We're keeping our fingers (and paws) crossed that everything went well and that there will be little puppies soon 🐾✨
Regards,
Alexander, Ronja and the rest of kennel Bullworks
